HOME SUPPORT SERVICE FOR OLDER PEOPLE
Has housework become difficult?
Age Concern Essex Home Support Service provides paid workers to do housework and shopping for older people living in their own homes and have difficulty doing these tasks for themselves.
By providing good, reliable help the service helps older people to maintain their independence and continue to live in their own homes for as long as possible. All our workers have CRB checks taken out on them and they are fully insured.
How do I arrange the service?
The service is Countywide and has a local office in most areas; all telephone numbers are listed below.
Contact the nearest office to where you live and the Co-ordinator will arrange for a referral visit and a member of staff will visit you to discuss the service we can provide. Your details will then be passed back to the Co-ordinator and a worker will be allocated to you.
What duties can our workers provide?
- Cleaning kitchens and bathroomsVacuuming, polishing and dusting
- Changing beds
- Laundry and ironing
- Cleaning windows (inside)
- Shopping and prescription collecting
- Defrosting fridges
- Cleaning cookers
THIS IS A WEEKLY SERVICE WITH A MINIMUM VISIT OF ONE HOUR. THERE IS A CHARGE FOR THE SERVICE.
