ESSAY AND POETRY COMPETITION 2007/2008

AGE CONCERN ESSEX began holding an annual Essay Competition in the 1950s as it was thought it might be very interesting to get older peoples' reminiscences on record since once that particular generation disappeared, there would be no-one to ask "What was it like in your day?". This competition proved so popular that it is still in being today with the added bonus of a Poetry Competition for those people who find writing poems more to their liking. Each year one copy of every entry is lodged with the Essex Record Office for the benefit of future generations.

The last date for entering this year's competition has passed. Results will be published, together with extracts from winning entries, on this page when available.
